welcome party
30 November, 2006: Gotta welcome party
Well on last Monday we went to akasuka office of nikko Citigroup where we were scheduled for a welcome party. Best part was this that all expenses were paid by our project manager Mr. Paul Griffin. Not by the company as you may have expected. So far I have observed that there are not much company-sponsored parties here unlike Indian companies, I wish this observation would be proved wrong. Well we went to an Indian hotel called jaipur where we had some good Indian buffet. Though we got all that nan again. I m fed up of this nan kinda thing...
Apart that I meat rest of my team mates who are used to sit. We do have multi continental team, including British, Irish, Chinese, Canadian and 4 Indians including tirath and me. It was a nice get together and we shared a lot between us except food ;) I noticed that there is a great ratio of Indians in nikko Citigroup. Even many of very high officials are Indians. Long live India and its IT...
On Wednesday we applied for alien card. Every foreigner who has to stay in japan for more than 90 days has to register himself with local ward office. Again, great cooperation instead of language issues. And though those 6 photos cost me some 600 yen but using that automatic photo machine was great...! It asked for all adjustment like aligning chin, find ur nose, align eyes n all tricks to get a good passport size photograph.
At the end of the day, our first created template was sent to client and he rejected it within 5 minutes ;) folks, I hv started work ;)
